The way some dealers work:
- you phone the dealer for an appt. which is a week or 2 away.
- dealer looks at TT, then contacts the factory for authorization which takes another week or 2.
- your TT sits on dealer's lot waiting for parts which takes 2 - 4 weeks.
- parts arrive and then dealer schedules the work to suit their schedule which is another couple of weeks.
Overall time can thus easily end up being 6-8 weeks, all the while being susceptible to break-in or damage. Some dealers are just as busy during the off-season doing insurance repair work so it can be just as difficult to get an RV in and out of their shop. God help you if you need warranty work in the camping season...
Dealers often get parts shipped with new TTs being delivered to them which can be part of the delay.
Good luck on getting the warranty period extended, unless you had it written into the purchase agreement which I doubt they would agree to. Also a more difficult argument during the off-season.
