Family across country road trip

I remember the days when DW and I worked full time and we wanted to go far on our vacation. It was not uncommon for us to drive 500-600 miles a day on the interstate. Not the most fun, but we wanted to get to where we were going. Do we do that now, of course not. We are now retired and we do the 300 miles a day thing. However if need be we would do 500 miles again. I say do what you need to do and have a great trip. Don't let us retired folks tell you what you should do. We won't see you in the Outer Banks next summer because we will be in Colorado with our oldest grandson.
