As some one who tows using a tundra and a 7k TT .the biggest issue is the tank. I tow around 150 before I am looking at next gas stop in the next 30 miles.i do carry a gas can or 2 just in case. I am sure you know that. I will not carry too much junk either.
Koa always have drive through and usually have a few full hookup sites for later arrival so you fill a form and just park.
Have fun, I have many 5000 miles motorcycle trips , small Suzuki sport bike with 110 mile range. Be efficient and enjoy.i would follow the same plan if I was doing a trip. Look for the rest area and pullovers on highways so you can gas up fast and grabs a bite and be on ur way.
I used to tow a 7k TT with my Nissan Armada, and completely concur with the advice to carry a Jerry can or two. We were heading from El Paso to Carlsbad, NM back in December of 2011, and had a nearly full tank. We got almost half way there, which is in the absolute middle of nowhere (the middle of nowhere in West Texas is a desolate place indeed), and realized we didn't have enough gas to make it to the next station. We ended up turning around and heading back to El Paso for gas, gas cans, and a ****py dinner. I think it was about 11pm by the time we pulled into the space in Carlsbad, and everyone was quite cranky by then.
