although i am a duramax /allison crewcab shortbox owner with a lockable snugtop canopy i do agree that the megacab ram diesel with a canopy is a very good solution .
one of my buddies has one and the back seat is huge .
you did not say what your trailer is but with six folks it will be a long LEVER and do best with a heavy PAYLOAD 3 /4 ton pickup .
You will need a heavy tongue weight for stability in crosswinds towing a long LEVER and that is best provided by a 3 /4 ton that will weigh 800# more than an f150 .
Plus the 3 /4 ton brakes make the wimpy 1 /2 ton brakes look small when the wheels are off at the tire shop.
You have precious cargo and a lot of it and this is not a job designed for a half ton no matter how cool the leather seats , sunroof , GPS screen , and iphone connectivity make the lighter weight truck seem .
