Sounds like your going to need a fairly large TT. Six people will need the room, a couple of slide outs or more will help. A well built unit is going to weight more. Four seasons units will be better insulated.
A long wheel base vehicle, 3 rows of seating, trailering package which will include a transmission cooler, hitch and wiring. A low rear gear 3.73 or 4.10 for a big block or 4.10 min. for a small block engine. I agree with bmanning 4x4 low range is a big advantage for some camping spots and sometimes just wet grass.
Your limited to a 3/4 ton or higher, Suburban, Excursion or a van. What you need is out there but they may be few and far between. Don't settle on less because in the long run safety or maintenance will get you.
