Fantastic fan

I can not address the installation. I can say that I would not want to be without my 2 fantastic fans. They move a lot of air through the coach. Great customer service too.

Yes replace a current vent.
As too installation. Contrary to their instructions especially if 'rubber' roof- don't use the included foam gasket and dont use silicone to caulk. Use butyl tape and appropriate caulk for roof material.

Replaced my trailer bathroom vent recently and wish I had done this years ago.
OEM fan was worthless.

If anyone will have trouble reaching the switch, get the model with a remote.

Yes I replaced all three vents in my RV with fantastic vents when it was new. Then put one of the old vents into the RV I traded in.

The fantastic fans are very quiet compared to the bathroom fan it replaced, and more than three times the airflow. I covered them with Maxx air vents, and this gives less outside light inside, and protects the vent covers. They are now nearly 20 years old, no cracks or damage from trees, ect. And I can leave them open while driving, or in the rain.

I did find 12 volt power near my kitchen and rear bedroom vents, where there was not a factory installed fan (like the bathroom).

We went with the 14 speed remote control model. Pricey but well worth it.

I would get a Maxxaire type where the fan is located to the rear away from the opening and pointed down so it could be run in the rain, etc. don't know if fantastic has such an arrangement. of course could put a maxxaire cover over a fantastic fan if you want extra work/expense.
I think I have seen variable speed fans but 14 speeds seems more like a sales gimmick than necessary. just more to go wrong?

I researching this topic, since I am also considering adding a fan or two to my new RV..... I learned taht MaxxAir has stopped making this Turbo model with the fan up in the cover. I asked why, since this is the one I was leaning to, but did not receive an answer. Just confirmation taht it is discontinued.
I liked it in thory, mainly because it looked like an easier retrofit.

Their new MaxxFan has the integral cover and looks nice, but it does ad compleity that I'm not convinced in needed. It does offer a more streamlined install though when closed..... which might help to get me another 0.00001MPG!

Also, there is a youtube video showing why the fantastic vent cover is superior to maxx cover and the others. I just picked up a cover the otehr day but haven't installed it yet..... still deciding which one to put a fan in an which fan I'll be getting..... but the fantastic fan cover looks like it's designed to allow the regular vent cover to open fully, where the others are not.

The fantstic fan should fit the standard 14"x14" hole for mounting.

Even in my OFF-ROAD POPUP they work great. Crack open a tent bed flap on the other end of the trailer and pull in the cool night time air.

We have three and love them. All three have remotes with temp or speed settings and rain sensors.

We have a Max Aire cover over the one in the bedroom so we can run it when it is raining. The cover prevents it from opening fully, so cannot use the auto open feature, but it does not seem to restrict airflow.

someone recently posted a fantastic fan that just mounted at the bottom of the standard vent opening and hooked up to existing 12 volt supply. designed to replace little whirr and buzz in the bathroom.
looked like an easy install.
