Wouldn't be without one.
Recently we left our TC for about 8 hours in 90° heat. FF on and a couple windows slightly open. Came back to something that wasn't a oven.
And it runs for hours without running batteries down.
But do get a Maxxair cover- allows fan use in the rain and allows you to leave the vent open going down the road
