One source of large Ram sales has always been governmental fleet bids--at lowest price. The U.S. Army used to also buy substantial numbers of Rams because of price.

Here is some info on fleet sales. The "big 3" are pretty much equal. Still would like to see your source on ford outselling GM and RAM combined in diesel sales.
