I keep hearing this assertion here, and never backed up. Do manufacturers really provide jacks incapable of lifting a truck loaded to its ratings? Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen, if it hasn't happened already. While powered camper jacks can be used easily enough to take the weight off, other loads are not so easy to deal with.
The real question is, how far can we de-rail the thread?? OP started in the first post by not explaining what security he was looking for and still hasn’t.
To the above posts, I’ve lifted some stupid stuff with OE tire jacks. Sucked a truck out of the mud, to the point that it permanently re-arched the rear springs! But I wouldn’t want to pick up the back of my truck with a camper on it with that cheezy little jack, even under optimal conditions.
So.....your both right, even if one of ya is paranoid! Lol
