No they never built them in Australia, so 25% on something that does not exist does not make sense. Losing their subsidies made US owners shut down manufacturing not Tariffs. You are not get what I am saying. A 25% tariff would force truck manufacturers to build your own ute's domestically without the need to give subsidies because it would make it more cost effective to build in Australia instead of Thailand.

No you cannot put 25% Tariff that on something does not exist. If you built yes, but they did not exist.,it is much more cost effective to build outside, as what is happening increasingly in the US
