I think with dually you should be good to put long bed camper and still not worry about weight distribution.
I have F350 dually what was originally C&C and am taking advantage of strong suspension by putting the 5000 lb (wet) camper a foot behind the cabin, what gives me very convenient space for stinky stuff.
I reinforced the bumper, so it is supporting the camper as well, but don't see any problem to make additional support coming from the hitch.
Obviously camper weight distribution is pretty hard to figure out till you have it on and drive on the scales, but unless you will go into multi-slides you should be good.
For me crucial was convenient bathroom and 11' camper was the only I could find on used market. Maybe new campers come with nice bathroom in smaller sizes, but I did not like older designs.
