Feel bounce in trailer when someone walk inside.

I have a 2015 Coachman Freedom Express Liberty edition 322 RLDSLE 36 feet long with power stabilizer jacks. When parked if I am sitting down or in bed and anyone walks inside trailer I get up and down bounce. It is very annoying and if asleep wakes me up. I put the Stabilizer jacks down until they clink and stop moving and the tires are chocked. Wondering if I added manual scissor jacks on each corner would solve this or maybe someone has another suggestion? Not sure of the suspension brand but there is 17 inches between the tires and the springs attach to a yoke in between the axels. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

  • The floor is large sheets of thin ply strung across and supported by two frame rails roughly 6 ft apart. So you have a drum head for everyone to walk on. If you used enough jacks and other gizmos to immobilize the frame completely, you'll still feel every motion inside the trailer. Nature of the beast and a method of reducing weight.
  • Add a Steadyfast, JT Strongarm or similar to your trailer. Will take out a good bit of movement your feeling.

A pair of BAL X-tended X-Chocks will stop any rotational movement of the tires but won't do anything to reduce the natural tendency of any trailer to move laterally on it's suspension.

Feeling SOME "bounce" or movement in any trailer is normal and unavoidable..

BUT, at 36ft length, it will be more noticeable than say a 20ft trailer, there is a lot of unsupported trailer the longer you go.

You can put a extra set of stabilizers/jacks near the CENTER of the trailer. This will add support to the trailer frame and stop some of the bounce movement the trailer springs are currently allowing.
