Say what? So GM knowing they had issues with their ignition switches for years, refusing and lying to the Government is not arrogance? Ford is no better either and yes so is FCA. But it is not a foreign thing.
I will give you this, you don't make statements like "There is nothing in common between the VW reality and what we are describing here," he said. It's "absolute nonsense" to suggest so, he said, and anyone who disagreed with him is "smoking illegal material." Marchionne insisted that Fiat Chrysler has been forthright." and come off as arrogant. He reminds me of our new President in that he speaks before he thinks!

I think it's safe to assume that the new administration will roll back some of this unrealistic regulations.
Yeah, I can remember all those "unrealistic regulations" that have been mandated on auto manufacturers since the mid '60's.
Every time, same old line, "this will put us out of business".
So, how much more are the auto manufacturers worth now than they were in the '60's?
Yup, put them right out of business....sure..... RobertRyan wrote:

Would be nice if that was the case but the US Justice Department has just launched a Criminal Investigation

I wonder if the EPA still pursues this once the Trump admin takes over. The incoming EPA chief, Scott Pruitt, is not a big fan of the agency or their regulations.
My thoughts exactly. The USA needs to get competitive again with the rest of the world, including manufacturing and pollution standards in 3rd world countries.
And enjoy third world pollution ... again?
Thought we were past that.
After going to LA and seeing the Hills disappear at 5 pm, no you are far from past that. - RobertRyanExplorer

Could be wrong but this engine (3.0 Ecodiesel) is compliant with European Union emissions standards across the pond, and I think they are more stringent than US EPA. At least from what I read online.....
No it is complying with US Tier standards, needs to be completely different to meet Euro Standards. Do not know if it will meet Euro 6 - Bionic_ManExplorerI think the arrogance is a foreign thing. I have worked for European companies. Pretty common.

I certainly hope the allegations are not true. However, if they are true and FCA has been cheating, I hope they thoroughly investigate Sergio. I like many of the FCA products, but I just cannot trust that guy.
Lol but you can trust other billion dollar ceos that you don't even know?
True Grit dog, I do not personally know any CEO's, but what I do know is what I read. I am passionate about the auto industry and I read a lot. Sergio's quotes are consistently arrogant, almost as bad as Elon Musk. I also read quotes from GM and Ford executives, but the tone is very different. VW executives also seem arrogant. But, none of that matters anyway. It's just my opinion, just like everyone else is expressing their opinions here. - Six (6) more days and the current joker will be gone.... Thank God!
