FCA says the manufacturing juggling will be job neutral.

The Dart/200 will be ended. The more profitable Jeep and Ram vehicles will then be shifted to US production. The upcoming Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer at the Warren Truck plant, and Ram trucks at the Sterling Heights plant.

And the replacement for the Jeep Compass/Patriot, a lower profit line, will then move to Mexico.

Now, whether you believe it will still be job neutral is a different story. But they say it will....

What's to comprehend except you have a plant making Darts that nobody is buying so therefore not much work on that line.
Now you are going to start making trucks on that line that are selling like hotcakes.

How do you figure they are losing jobs?

They are taking production of a non-selling car and moving it to Mexico.

Instead they are going to make high selling pickups and SUV's in the US.

Sounds to me like there will actually be more jobs coming back.
High demand vehicles are going to need more workers to put them together.

Smart move by Fiat as they answer to the shareholders first. It's a global world, and where production takes place should come down to what is best for the consumer in low prices and increasing profits to keep the company viable.

Humorous as to seeing many FCA Darts for sure because I live only 116 air miles from where FCA's Darts are made and yet we are very lucky the see as many as one of them a week in our region. Yup, they are nixing the Dart and for very good reasons as it's a big loser for FCA and very poor seller! Also notice that FCA is moving Jeep building to Toluca, Mexico from Belvidere, Illinois too. Won't have to ship the Mexican made engines north thousands of miles to the U.S. for the engines any more. Then they can import the engines in the Mexican made vehicle and save money. Smart!?!?!?. What it really means is: Simply, bye bye for so many more American jobs but why not since FCA is actually an Italian owned and run corporation anyway!

Probably doesn't hurt that you live relatively close to the production plant. I myself have not driven one or been in one, but someone at work had one for a 800 mile road trip and was less than impressed with it.

Yes I`m not far from it, but that doesn`t mean they just hand them out because I`m close. It`s still a nice low priced car, that drives nice and looks great! even my son loves the looks of it!
