Their engines in this class are very similar to the Cummins offerings.
BTW their are no longer Dodge pickup trucks. Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram are individual divisions.
Chris - You never know it could happen with the current Fiat ownership.
Remember during the Daimler days one of the Germans in a public speech said that the cummins was going to be replaced by one of their engines. Soon after Daimler went on the PR mode saying this guy mis-spoke but I'm sure it was in the planning stage or else that guy wouldn't have said it. - colliehaulerExplorer IIIThe Cummins was what put the Dodge trucks on the map. While the Fiat Diesel might be a great engine it would take a while to build the same trust for the motor.
- CalicajunExplorerHad a RAM EcoDiesel with the 3.0 Fiat diesel. It was a very good running truck, did everything they said it would do without any trouble. We went to a RAM 2500 because we are looking at get a larger fifth wheel. Otherwise we would have kept the EcoDiesel.
- TrackrigExplorer III seriously doubt it - it's the Cummins engine that sells the truck, not the Dodge name.

The 6.7L Cummins is their mainstay in HD Trucks - 45RicochetExplorerNo G in Cummins and I really doubt it. The Cummins was a big selling feature for Dodge, Ram.
