Filled propane tank, no propane comes out

Once, our stove would not get above a simmer. I thought the tank was empty, so I took it to be filled. That tank was heavy, and the "gas filler-up guy" confirmed it was 3/4 full. Told him the simmer story---he purged the tank. Basicly he opened that bleed port on the backside of the valve. I do not believe that is the evironmental friendly way to do it, but it worked.

Something or another about an air bubble, yap, yap, yap....don't know but it worked.

I would take the tank to a propane supplier....say "HELP". However, I would think if you are brave you could loosen the bleeder a bit, see if you can get some propane to sneak out. CAUTION---propane cold, like hurt you hand cold.

DISCLAIMER: At no point do I advocate tamper with a propane safety device. Always have your tank filled and serviced by a professional.

It's not the regulator if it doesn't work on either side, and the other tank does. You may have to take it to a propane dealer for service.

Maybe time for a new regulator.

Thank you 2oldmen. Common sense that I reconnected the hose

when I worked at sears this would happen to a lot of my customers. their BBQ connection just would not allow gas flow. hook up to another BBQ and it worked fine. I would buy a new pig tail and try that.

Check the connection for obstructions, hose too. I don't see where the OP indicated the tank wasn't hooked to anything.

It must be hooked to something for it to come out.
