Final report on our 2010 Rockwood 8315BSS travel trailer

We sold our 2010 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8315BSS travel trailer last month after 5 years and 5 months. I wanted to let everyone know that during the 5 years that we lived in it 3 to 4 nights a week while working out of town before we retired that I never had a major problem of any sort with the trailer. The only thing that ever happened to the trailer was actually nothing to do with the quality of the trailer. A storm blew the stove vent cover off on the outside of the trailer and also bent the front window cover because we forgot to put it down before we went home over one weekend and a propane tank connection went bad. The black water tank drain valve got stiff but it still worked just fine. The only thing inside that needed replaced was the cold water knob in the shower. The plastic knob cracked inside due to being turned off to hard by my wife again no fault of the quality of the trailer.

The other equipment such as the A/C, stove, refrigerator, TV, radio and CD player, water heater, water lines and valves, sinks, toilet, 3 roof vents, slide outs, bed, couch and recliner, table and chairs, kitchen cabinets and drawers, bedroom chest of drawers, electric tongue jack and electric stabilizers, electric awning, and everything else worked perfectly the whole time.

A conservative estimate on the number of nights that we spent in it would be some where between 750 to 800 nights. That would be figuring on just be 3 nights a week but there were some weeks we didn't go home for 2 weeks.

I can honestly say the travel trailer was more reliable than our stick and brick house was during this period.

If I ever buy another travel trailer it'll be a Rockwood of this same model if they still make them.

Happy Trails everyone.

PS
I also meant to add that I appreciate all the great help I got here when we first bought our travel trailer. Some of the nicest people on the Internet are on this forum.

  • Thanks for takin the time to share. Positive reviews seem rare. Much apreciated
  • I have the flagstaff twin of your model, a 2011. Going on five years, about 700 nights and 17,000 miles and I have had to do nothing but replace the tires, replace the CO/propane detector, replace the water filter canister and tighten the shower base a couple of time a year. Can't complain.
  • That's one heck of a positive review. 'Attaboy for posting it up.
  • That's great news and nice to hear a positive report once in a while!
