You're right, we settled on a 14 high x 18 wide door. My current camper requires a little less than 11 1/2 ft. of clearance, but a good point was made early in this topic: I may replace this camper with one that has a basement, and it will need at least a foot more clearance. That's one of the reasons I started this topic, to get more brains involved. There are so many details like that to consider.
My AF811 (it has a basement) on my 2009 Chevy Dually sit at about 11' 10" tall, according to my best attempt at measuring the height.
My new estate has an RV bay with a 12' door. When I get brave, I will see if I can squeak it under the door or not.
Going with a 14' door is the ultimate solution for an RV Bay, any normal RV will fit! Even a huge Prevost bus conversion.... length would be be the only concern them.
