Thanks Dak. I'm happy to know that you and other fellow RV'ers have enjoyed following along through the course of this project. The boss and I are very happy with the way it's turned out, though there were times we wondered if it would EVER end. There were so many challenges to overcome with this. Once the old garage was torn down though, there was nothing else we could do but build a new one! It was just a question of "how big do we go?"
I wonder if we had known up front everything it would take to get this done..........would we have even started? It might have caused us to either do nothing, or scale our plans way back. This truly was our "once in a lifetime", "do it just the way we always dreamed" project. Everyone who earns an honest living deserves the opportunity to turn a dream into a reality. We've never done anything like this with previous places we've owned, and we will most likely be in this house for many more years enjoying the fruits of our labors, so at least we can say we waited until the right time.
I'm still hoping to work in a vacation trip in the camper this year, but it's still very much up in the air. I've got the vacation time available, but whether I can force myself to leave home when my to-do list is page after page long remains to be seen.
I hope when you embark on your project, you'll let us follow along, too. It's been helpful to me to have the input of so many others who have posted comments, ideas, suggestions, etc throughout this project. I know there's been more than one time I've said "I didn't even think of that". So, thank you all for the help and encouragement.
And Dak, when you do get started, go big! Don't hold back! :B I want to watch someone else spend money like a drunken sailor! :W
