The second plumber was a little more interested in working, so I was able to take another step forward in this project. Water and natural gas are now plumbed into the garage.
We got water by pulling a piece of siding off and teeing into the line that feeds this faucet This is on the house just to the left of the garage front. Sweated copper line was used for this short section.

Once the water line was in the garage wall, we changed to PEX tubing. I told the plumber I wanted to be able to shut off the water to the garage and open all the hose faucets to drain the system in the winter if needed. He put a ball valve on the line where it changes from copper to PEX. The faucet here is just for draining the lines.

From here it goes up into the garage ceiling, and then back down the walls to two inside faucets. The one pictured above and one next to the camper in the lower bay.

And a stub-out below the window in the upper bay for a future utility sink.

I also had three faucets installed on the outside of the garage........
Front wall upper bay.

Front wall lower bay.

Back wall lower bay.

The natural gas was accessed in the attic above the kitchen next to the new living area. Rather than try to run it through the wall around this window which would have been tough, I told them to just put it in the corner and I'll box it in a chase when I build the closet in the corner. That window will go away then, and having a chase there will be handy if I need to run a wire from the attic into the garage after the walls are closed up.

This section of piping is flexible, but changes to black iron in the garage ceiling.

He put a tee in the upper bay ceiling for possible future use.

And a stub out in the lower bay ceiling for a heater I plan to install.

Next step is to get some spray foam insulation in the ceiling of the new living area, and the upper bay garage ceiling. I want the upper bay ceiling insulated with expanding foam to help quiet the floor above it. Having the foam stuck to the backside of the sub-floor should keep it from resonating. I'll probably insulate the rest of the new construction with fiberglass batts, due to the cost of foam.
