Finally ordered and a Thanks

Just got through placing my order for a brand new TC transportation device. Want to thank everyone for answering all my question and letting me order with confidence I was getting what I would need.

Since the wife will be driving it with the TC, we decided that the next TC will remain small and light giving us the benefit of still being able to explore forest roads at the expense of smaller quarters and dumping more often. Figure I will be about 1,000# under the GVWR after the TC upgrade. The compromise will work well for us for about the next 6-10 years we think.

2015 Ram 3500 SLT 4x4 SRW Long Box
6.4 Hemi Engine
3.73 Gears
Premium Cloth Bench 40/20/40 Seat (60/40 Rear Seat)
220 Amp Alternator
Auxiliary Switches (5 mounted in instrument panel controlling relays)
Protection Group (transfer case skid plate)

The SLT already had the integrated brake controller and tow hooks so didn't have to add them.

Originally planned on rear sensor and backup camera but since the TC will be on it and the tailgate off most of the time, figured it was a waste of money.

After price negotiation, had the dealer throw in the switch wiring package ($70) and wheel liners at his cost. Which made it a very sweet deal since he was already less than I could have taken a left over 2014.

So now I get to sit back and watch the slow build and delivery process. Of course, get to spend some of the time aligning some other goodies and planning my first trip.

January is going to be a long time coming. :B

  • Not really a waste of money....wiring harnesses are available to add your own camera to the TC and still use the trucks OEM monitor for viewing. I would want that option since it gives you a hard wired back up camera when TC is on the truck

Had considered it by my understanding is it only comes on when the truck is put in reverse. By going after market I'll be able to use it while traveling down the road to keep an eye on the boat or other cargo trailer.

If it's not to late get the cargo camera. It a cam mounted in the third brake light. Makes loading a TC a breeze.

Already a breeze just by using my side mirrors. Can't get much easier to me and the wife will never load the TC by herself. Happy enough with her just sharing some of the driving once I get the auto.

  • Lance 915 unless we find something similar in size first.
  • Sounds like a good truck. What TC are you upgrading to?
