My truck actually gets better fuel economy on winter blend or just perhaps with the colder temps due to less regens.
A recent trip to our deer camp and back yielded 21 mpg with 3 passengers and gear.
They sell winter blend diesel near Houston??????? Mind you, I realize long distance travelers going north should have it, but gee, for local conditions, it is not needed.
Wow. Never thought about it being used that far south. I wonder if what Don is using farther north is a different blend, with more #1 in it for the colder northern climate?????
Course, I do recall getting the best fuel mileage ever on my 2003 Chevy Duramax while running around on Texas fuel. Perhaps the suppliers, the refineries being down there. Who knows???
Yes we have winter blend #2 diesel, but not #1 diesel. I do believe the #1 diesel has less BTU's and less lubricity than #2.
