Hey Fish:
which truck do you have exactly? SRW or dually????
I did get almost the same mileage one evening driving home from Omaha, Nebraska, so about 160 miles, more or less.
This was with my former vehicle (2011 F 350 dually crew cab 6.7L diesel).
No wind, dark and I drive about 58 MPH cause I just don't see deer as well as I once did. And there are some monster, corn fed white-tails around here just waiting to jump in front of ones vehicle.
So 20 something MPG is certainly an obtainable feat. Mine was with the dually, shoot a SRW version should actually get better mileage.
Summer fuel at that time.
TMN,
It's a SRW truck, 3.55 gears, 20" rims, CC, FX4... And I want to again emphasize that my truck regens basically ~50% less frequent during the winter(while running winter blend diesel) which also aids in improved fuel economy. There has been trips to the same destination during summer months with strong southeast winds and I'll make as low as ~19 mpg.
My observation is that my DPF equipped truck is not negatively affected by winter blend diesel vs standard diesel. The winter blend diesel with less BTU's that equates to less mpg's is offset by less regens which helps improve mpg's. On my 05 6.0 PSD (Non DPF)I did notice a drop in fuel economy while running winter blend like everyone else reports.
