Toyota has been supplying the TRD kit for the 5.7 since 2007 and when installed by them the vehicle warranty remains in place for the entire drive line for the factory term. In 80-85F temps, the trans temp guage does not move from normal nor does the engine temp. The Supercharger has its own inter cooler and reservoir. I notice that even in a strong headwind, which I hardly notice compared to pre SC throttle is not being pushed. In fact it seems like the truck works far less than it did prior. You are so right about the trans being the weak link and I see so many folks towing in gears higher than they should not using common sense when approaching a hill or climb! I have always believed that it's better to drop a gear before the trans goes under load and manually control it with respect and have been successful to not have to donate a pay check to the local shop! if it wasn't for the warranty on the truck remaining, I would have been far more apprehensive to add this to what I feel was a high priced half ton. We plan to use the rig a lot this summer and will keep a progress report coming if members show an interest. Cheers
