- gopherslayerExplorerPut tow mirrors on and Raceline Raptors with new Nitto Dura Grapplers. The mold release on these tires was a little excessive. First couple hundred miles were a bit squirrelly but it settled down.
Hooked up to Trail Lite Trek 272.
Comparing this to the 1/2 ton Silverado I used last year (5.3 3.73:1 gears)the difference is night and day (6.0 3.73:1). I didn't even make 4 miles and the wife commented on what a big difference there was.
Also installed Prodigy P3 controller. Wow what a difference. $114 dollars well spent.
Daughter and dog were happy with the extra room to relax in.
The tow mirrors were a good investment. Much better view and no shake.
210 miles were put on and this beast didn't strain one bit. Tranny temps were 170-180. Very little downshifting on the long hills. I will never be going back to a half ton for anything. Stability wise and ride were fantastic in the 2500. Best of all the price was right on the Yukon XL (1 owner, school district owned, easy life). - SouthpawHDExplorerCongrats on the new truck and a great towing experience.
I just had my first pull with a 3/4 ton and they do pull very well!!! - mrgrim007ExplorerLooks nice. What tow mirrors did you put on it?
- gopherslayerExplorerAuto day plus I believe. Amazon had them for $169 Prime. After I received them I figured out that they were $15 cheaper without Prime. Came from the same place. They were on my doorstep next day though.
10 year warranty. We shall see. - gopherslayerExplorerThe Dura Grapplers are very nice. Extremely quiet and a great ride. Had a downpour for fifteen miles and no issues with standing water.
- Bionic_ManExplorerThanks of the post.
Does the remote still work with the mirrors? Was it a DIY install, or did you have someone do it? I have an 03 2500 Burb with the terrible factory tow mirrors. - gopherslayerExplorerStill works. Plug and play.
- APTExplorerThat truck looks in great shape! I think you'll enjoy it for many years.
- MegaCab_PLExplorerI was going to BEG you to change the wheels :)
But on the next picture I see you did.
I would add OEM type fender flares and matching running boards, and you are done.
Nice pick, not too many of them. - gopherslayerExplorerIf you look online there seems to be quite a few out in the western states. I looked just for fun after I bought mine. More than a few 8.1l too. Very happy with this one though. Doesn't have 4.10s but that could be remedied if I wanted to do it.
