We tend to always buy used - let the first guy take the initial depreciation hit. I think that is especially important for your first trailer as there is no way you will know exactly what you really want until to try it a while. Look at lots of trailers, and soon you will get a feel for what floor plans and makes and models tickle your fancy.
Don't dismiss buying used from a dealer. They may not have the lowest prices, but they often offer at least a short warranty. They often also have late model trade ins from people that found out they needed something different.
