From what I've seen of pre-owned 1/2 ton trucks that fit our budget and criteria, there isn't that much more towing capacity, just extra payload. The Armada is rated for a 9,000lb trailer with a GVWR of 7100lbs, a curb weight of 5302lbs and a GVCWR of 15,100 and tongue weight of 900lbs.
The mistake your making here is that payload will be exceeded before you reach the manufacturers stated tow capacity. What ever vehicle you decide to get, you should focus on it's payload and the things that subtract from it - tongue weight, WDH setup, people, pets, etc. There is a sticker in the door jamb that tells you this information. Tow capacity is determined by a 150 lb driver pulling a flat trailer with weight on it. Pulling a high walled TT down the road is a whole lot different. You also need to be concerned with the hitch receiver limitations. For more info, if your inclined, Google "What can I tow".
Try this to get you started. On edit, I googled Armada payload and got 1,309 to 1,742 lbs. This range is based on options, so the all wheel drive system you want will add weight. If you really want the Armada and want to tow safely, considering your family is along, then get the one you want, load it up for camping - people pets gas, etc. and take it to a scale to weigh it. Subtract the number you get from the manufactures stated GVWR. Good luck.
