First tow with 06 LBZ

LBZ rules. mine is the same 11-12 towing average, around 20 hwy trip. did get bad news the other day. there are no companys on the internet that will put an extended warranty on My LBZ. 278000. miles is to high to add a warranty. glad its not having any problems, knock on wood.

Congrats and welcome to the LBZ world. Mine gets between 9-13mpg depending on wind, terrain and speed. I actually look forward to towing with mine to see if there are any obstacles that I can't climb. So far none.

Anytime now I expect to see the emergence of a counterfiet Duramax LBZ black market. GM only built so many, and it seems the demand for these specimen only grows as the reputation about them gets spread.

My lmm duramax is very close to these numbers. I have a logbook and have recorded the dic vs hand calculated on every fill up. Typically the dic is within 0.2 mpg. I have heard from a buddy at work that his 09 6.7 cummins mileage is horrible. That is what scare me away from the cummins back we I got my truck. Now the mileage sounds better.

Ours is a 2004.5 Chevy D/A crew cab LB 4X4 and 13 to 13.5 mpg has always been the norm pulling our scaled total weight 12,840 lb Carriage CarriLite 5th wheel hand calculated. The DIC has been accurate within approx 1/10 mpg over the a little more than 140,000 miles the truhs been driven so far. Ordered and owned the truck since new and keep a log of all fuel, mileage, and maintenance costs so we know. We tow at 58-62 mph on Interstates and the speed limit posted on other roads. Truck is only driven for RV use. With our 11'4" very heavy Lance truck camper on instead of towing the CarriLite 5th wheel, we have averaged 13.93 mpg over the 71,986 miles of hauling it alone and 13.38 mpg average with our 2150 lb boat/trailer behind.

Speed and driving habits make a very big difference as does which vehicle brand/specs/efficiency is driven. Some vehicles are known and a proven track record to have either higher or lower average mpg's. The various tests, shootout comparisons, and consumer etc reports have been very accurate and constant in their numbers for so many years now.

Just because a person does not get as good of fuel economy with their particular vehicle or rig as others doesn't mean or have any bearing on what others are getting with their vehicle or rigs. You had the right to make your own decisions and therefore be the owner of the results of your decision whether it's positive or negative!

11 mpg to 13.5 mpg (depending on wind direction and terrain), towing a 32' Sunnybrook with 3 slides, 12,500 lbs.

yep, when i went from a Ford v10 to a LB7 it was amazing. we made the same exact trip with the LB7 that we had made with the V10 just 2 weeks earlier, so it really was a fair comparison.

Bigger truck same 5er but better mileage. And power at way lower RPMs.

Maybe I'll upgrade the truck one day, but is it even right to trade a Duramax before hitting 100k?
