I doubt you'll run into any warranty repairs on that engine/transmission within the warranty period anyway. That combo has a pretty solid reputation in terms of reliability.
Not likely it did, depending on your definition of meaningful. However the opposite is very true in boosted applications.
I went that route a couple times before I succumbed to getting a diesel and the lighter wallet always made the truck seem faster and get better mileage.....for about a week.
After that I chalked it up to the added noise of the flow masters giving me that sensation.
That said, not being a Ford guy, but having driven extensively about every gasser model they've offered for the last 20 years, the Eco/5.0/6.2s in the current trucks are solid.
No magic beans available for fuel mileage and diesel torque, but very good for what they are.
