I pulled our #10K travel trailer over 16,000 miles with my 250 6.2 without any issues. My biggest gripes were the soft bouncy rear suspension (fixed with airbags & shocks) and the terrible fuel mileage while towing. Basically 7-8 mpg, 200 miles per tank, yuck. I never went with a tuner cuz I didn't feel like those things were worth 400 bucks or whatever they cost. Of course anything that makes the transmission stop hunting around with torque converter unlocked when going less than 45 mph is probably worth it.
