First travel trailer

I bought my first travel trailer on 5/25/2017, its a 2006 Adirondack 26RKSL. We pulled it a little over 100 miles this weekend and my new 2017 Ram 1500 with 3.92 gears and the 8speed auto pulled it great. I am already looking at different weight distribution hitches. I just wanted to introduce myself and apologize in advance for a ton of questions because we are learning as we go.

  • Nice looking rig and truck! Recommend an Equalizer E2 WD hitch. reasonable,( <$500) the #1 WDH in the US, and works great! Happy Camping!
  • I am a fan of the Blue Ox. I tow a 5000 lb dry weight 25 ft. Dutchmen which crosses the scales at 6400 lbs when loaded for the road. My TV is a 2011 e-boost F-150.

The Blue Ox has built in sway control which works well for us.
  • Yeah, you should not tow that without a wdh.

Beautiful truck and trailer though! Looks great. Congrats
  • Congratulations! Drive safely, and use lots of water in your waste tanks: black tank especially.
  • Great looking combination....sure a lot nicer than our 1st rig..
Congrats, and what hitch are you running with now? You mentioned that you are looking at hitches.

I've had 4 different ones..In you search, put Blue Ox SwayPro on you list.
  • New..new...new! Looks good! Fire away with those tons of questions.
