First TT buyer

Soon to be first time TT buyer here and need advice. Have a 2013 Toyota Tundra 4x4,5.7 V8 w/Rock Warrior pkg. Max tow 9800lbs (follows SAE J2807 tow ratings), 1385lbs payload (have added stuff so using around 1250lbs). Live in Phoenix, hate the summers. 6% climbs to get out of valley onto Mogollon Rim and into the mtns. Have serious man-crush on the Arctic Fox and Snow River TTs. Love SR 254LSS and AF 22G. Am concerned about TT weights and my Tundra's capabilities, want to always be legal and safe. The tongue weights (SR 254LSS, 750lbs; AF 22G, 550lbs) all seem to be ok for my truck. It's the TT weights that scare me(SR 254LSS, dry 6068lbs.; AF 22G, dry 4678lbs) Just my fiancé and myself 99% of time so supplies, clothes, etc in TT should't be that much extra. Do want a generator though. I know the Northwood TTs are expensive but having a tough time getting past the quality build. Do like the Lance TTs also but love Northwood. Everything seems to fit in Tundra's specs but want your advice to see what I'm missing. Would sincerely appreciate any advice you all could give. Thanks in advance.
  • Our one and only Northwood dealer is advertising a AF 22G with an Onan 2500 LP generator on the trailer for $32551. Thoughts on that generator and it's use? Have a small Honda portable 2k generator and am comfortable with it and love it but not useful for a TT.
  • That was a concern for me also. Like the SR but like the weight of the AF 22G better, especially having to climb out of the valley at around 1500 ft above sea level to between 7000 and 9000 ft to get to cooler country in AZ.
  • I would be concerned with the SR having a dry weight of over 6K. My TT is a hair over 5K pounds and that is the most I would want to tow with my 1/2 ton. And I tow mostly in very flat terrain.
  • Equal-i-zer 4-pt, Reese Strait Line, and Blueox Swawpro are about the same performance. The next step up in performance and price is Hensley/Propride/Pullrite.
  • Have either of you had any experience with airbags? Seems like there are mixed opinions on these. Also, a weight distributing hitch preference? Pro Pride and Equal-I-Zer seem to get quite a few position opinions.
  • I think your fine and I would stick with the AF over the Lance TT's. I see much better workmanship and design in them although either of them will likely have some minor quality issues. Unfortunately you cant do any better imo.
