You TV/TT combo is fine. I towed a 23' 5500 lb unit with our Tahoe for years withou any problems or concerns. It was safe with enough power and stopping ability. I used a Reese WD and sway bar at the time and it was more than enough. A Hensley is a fine unit but yes, it would be overkill.
