Fleetwood Elkhorn Construction
I am looking at buying a 2003 Fleetwood Elkhorn 9D. Are these wood frame construction or aluminum? Can't find much info on the Elkhorn campers. Any info I can get on it would be appreciated. Steve

I have an '03 Fleetwood Elkhorn 11X. It has graphics on the sides saying "aluminum frame". A guy stopped to talk in a CG once; he said he used to work for Fleetwood. He told me it was really mostly just aluminum studs that only went as far forward as the front wall. The cabover, according to him was all wood studs.
I've done enough work on the camper to know the roof is wood framing and a lot of the sides and floor are wood framing. So, thee must be some aluminum in there somewhere but there's also a lot of wood.
