I just replaced a piece of rotted subfloor in front of the door. I had to cut and roll back the flooring. Then used a circular saw to cut the floor back to a floor joist. Then added wooden blocking to the side of the floor joist. Pulled out the wet insulation and replaced it. Cut new sub floor and layed it in. Rolled the flooring back, and put down quarter round shoe molding to hold the floor in place and cover the slits in the flooring. Looks like the water was coming in around the door latch, then traveling down in through the lock mortise area down inside the wall. Not an insurmountable problem, but it did take a few days/evenings of work to get it solid again. Whenever I walk across it I can feel the seam in the subfloor, but nobody else can feel it. I think I felt it because I knew it was there. Need to replace a few pieces of weatherstripping around the door to stop the water intrusion.
