May 19, 2016Neither. Unless your plumbing is a straight shot to the tank, most of these products aren't very effective at cleaning the tank. At best you end up slowly backfilling the tank. You could just refill the tank and have another go at it. Getting in there with a tank wand would be best since you're scrubbing everything with water pressure.
One method I found effective for getting the most out of the black tank the first shot is to: open the black valve first, then the gray valve until the hose is filled, then shut the gray. The large column of water headed towards the dump station ends up placing a siphoning effect on the black tank which helps suck everything out. After the black is done, dump the gray as normal.
