I agree with the wand down the toilet. We have used them all and nothing works as well, including the built in tank rinser.
To answer the original question, the FlushKing works much better than the Hydroflush because you can block off the flow to the sewer with the FlushKing but cannot with the other. This allows you to completely fill the tank back up if you wish. With the Hydroflush, as soon as the water buildup in the tank reaches a certain level, and that isn't much, then it stops flowing into the tank and just goes down the drain.
The FlushKing is also useful now and then for breaking up a blockage at the drain fitting on the tank as it will supply pressure to the blockage whereas the Hydroflush will not. The FlushKing also works just as well with turns in the drainage piping and does not depend on a clear shot up into the tank to work.
Therefor, if you are intent on purchasing one or the other I would go with the FlushKing. :)
