Here is my just for kicks story: a few years ago I was traveling and as I passed a camper dealership I spotted a camper that hubby and I were interested in for retirement in a couple of years. Since that Brand, Keystone Laredo was not sold anywhere near our area of the state I could not pass up the opportunity to actually physically go see it inside and out.
I was upfront with the dealer that I was not buying that day and was researching. He was very nice but just told me I could look at anything open. Bottom line, I spent 30 minutes in that camper and fell in love with it. I called hubby and said this floor plan is our next camper. I was excited even though I knew I would have to wait a few more years.
Surprise! Hubby called me right back and said get a quote, that floor plan may not exist in a few years.
Salesman did not want to waste time with me. He did take my email address to send me a quote.
2 weeks later still had not heard from him. Meantime I found another dealer within 50 miles of him, they had the exact floor plan.Hubby and I made a day trip there, spent an hour with the camper and purchased it.
I did finally get a quote from the 1st dealership but it was to late.
As it happens, we also got our camper cheaper anyway. We still have that camper. The point is, sometimes a trip to just look at anything is just research. Sometimes it can turn into a purchase.
