That said, I run a minimum of a D rated tire on my jeeps these days. With the higher loads people carry now, even camping, and the faster pace modern builds travel at.. cuts down on flats considerably.
Stock Jeeps are not heavy at all, Jeeps outfitted for serious offroad with F&R bumpers, winch, 5 big tires, armor, offroad trail jack... can seriously get heavy in which I agree an E rated tire may be in order. On the road though I think the C rated tire for a stock Wrangler is still ideal as it yields a much nicer ride.
