Don't give up Nannymom. Everyone has to learn a lot when attempting something new. As others have already said, you need a checklist and need to know how and why you need to check things before you hit the road. There is probably more talk about tires on this forum than any other single subject with the exception of "how much can I tow with my Volkswagen Beetle"? You need to check the manufacturing date on your trailer tires and know when they will need to be replaced even if they still look new. You should also do your research to decide what tires you should buy when it is time to replace them. You might also consider a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which probably would have alerted you to the fact that you had a tire failing. You'll have to make up your own mind but most of the fun of having a TRAVEL TRAILER is being able to travel with it. From your description it sounds like quite a bit of work to fix your TT but have you at least considered it? Wishing the best for you.
