There are no synchros to help you get in to low range. Neither my Ford or Ram suggest shifting in to low without being at a complete stop. If you have manual hubs locked or automatic hubs, you can shift between 2wd and 4wd high at speed as long as you are going straight and you do not have wheel slip at the moment. Typically, I shift the automatic into neutral prior to shifting the transfer case and then shift it back to drive.
