No there seems to be an issue with the waste gate valve. While it might be a known issue to Ford, it is not uncommon. I had similar issues on my 2001 VW turbo engine and they had to replace the waste gate actuator to fix it.
It sucks no matter what and hopefully that will fix your problems and you wont have any others.
