Ford 6.7 Diesel Turbo Problem?

Hi all,

We noticed that when we were pulling a slight grade at about 45-50 mph, the truck would start lurching, and the turbo would stall (PSI down to zero). So we took it to the dealer to give it a check up. The dealer knew exactly what the issue was, and proceeded to do a major repair on the engine/turbo. Evidently, there is a valve that controls the turbo which can cause the problem due to heat encountered during regenerations. There is a fix for it by replacing the affected valve with a newer version which is not affected by the heat. Unfortunately, they have to wait on parts, so it might be another week before we get it back. The TV only has 15K miles on it :E Thank goodness for warranties.

To add to our impatience, our new FW is suffering delayed delivery due to a back up the manufacturer experienced because of the crazy winter weather in the Midwest. Now, their latest crystal ball prediction is the last week in March.

Come on folks, we just retired and want to play!!!

I tired to talk to about the 6.7 turbo problems in another post but was shouted down by the blue oval boys.

Hope you get it on the road again soon.
