All good advice here! Do not take another trip until you have the brakes fixed, checked and working and a brake controller! My 2013 Expy had one factory installed with the factory HD tow pkg so you may have one too. You will see the display on your system info center as you scan through all the options. You will need a WD hitch to balance the soft springs on your Expy and prevent sway. I have an E2 and it works great. Your cruising speed should be between 60-65. Never over 65!
My TT also weighs about 6000 and my 5.4L engine pulls it like a champ. You will be going only 45-50 on steep hills and getting your RPMS in the 3500 range-- perfectly normal! Good luck!
