I regularly tow over 10500 lb with my ecoboost v6 (trailer and cargo) and it does the job easily. My tow rating is 11,300 lb. If you tow in the mountains you are going to love climbing those 7% grades in 4th gear.
Obviously unless you plan on dragging around a completely empty trailer, the dry weight is a useless number so look at gvwr.
