Ford haalf tons- 2000 to now, how do they do that?

Just read the thread about the F150 with the GCWR over 15,000 lb with a 5.4 and 3.55 gears. That's 3000 lb more than my 2001 Expedition with the same engine nd gears. What else is different? ...

More horsepower for a given engine size and transmissions with more gearing.

My 1996 C1500 with a 5.7 L had 255HP with a 4-speed overdrive.
2006 C1500 with a 5.3/5.4l has 296 HP same tranny.
2012 C1500 with a 5.3L has 315 HP and 6-speed auto.
