I don't know how this is possible? According to the tuner posts here the OEM's have extracted every possible ounce of performance and mpg stock. I believe the phrase was "you are wasting your money".
Wow, really??? Never read that...I've read where the manufacturing is pushing as much power as they can and still placate and meet the EPA's stringent "clean air/anti pollution theme song's ...I know your post was sarcasm, but most if not all in here know that deleting or tuning one's vehicle will make it run faster, quicker and get better mpg...It's been very rare that I've read someone state that one would be "wasting their money".
I know it could "possibly" void some of one's warranty, but to tune or not to tune is no one else's business but the person that is doing it...and anyone can do it anytime they want to. All one has to know is the "pro's" and "con's" of tuning or deleting, and make sure there is one that will work on their particular vehicle.
I merely suggested than instead of Ford selling it as an aftermarket, seeing as how it is legal, why not "one up" everyone and put it on as OEM on the vehicles they're selling...If vehicle is going to be faster, quicker and get better mpg, why charge someone extra for that when one could have it be put on as OEM, one up everyone and be done with it...That's what "I" think they should do...don't see anything wrong with it...The way they're doing it is charging the customer even more money to get better benefits, that is evidently STILL legal and ok with EPA (or most know they wouldn't be doing it).
......and you can bet if a manufacturer is selling it, installing it and warranting it...it's STILL EPA legal....so why can't the customer have their cake and eat it too.....
This isn't the same type tune that some are doing by deleting or bypassing DEF, DPF, EGR and adding tuners that EPA is all over ....IF Ford is promoting it, you can bet they're on board with the stinking EPA to make it work....so why not give it to the customers right out of the gate??
I was speaking about gas engines tunes that are claimed to be no compromise perfect from the factory. Not emission delete diesel tunes. As evidenced by the manufacturers, there can be improvements when you target a more focused goal and not one size fits all.
