You will find a lot of US vehicles have been engineered outside the US
Which ones? Just curious....
I would guess mostly the smaller ones.
The micro cars, my Cruze, and prolly others that have an international market.
Not the trucks though.

Yeah, I know many of the small cars like the Spark, Sonic, Focus, and Fiesta are. Even the GM Colorado/Canyon twins. Not a lot, just a little more than a handful compared to the many US vehicles. - brulazExplorer

Pretty amazing how vehicle design and engineering can be distributed around the world these days.
Apparently our 2011 Chevy Cruze was designed in S.Korea, engineered in Germany and built in Ohio.
Although the design and engineering is not really advanced engineering for the Ranger.
, Australia has been building a reputation in Advanced Engineering, this is happening with Aerospace industries, Tool making machines, and Biomedical devices.

I thought Ford Australia had been shut down ?
It has had money poured into it by Ford to do various projects, the Ranger being one. 1700 engineers have been employed in the design and development of the Ranger and the Everest.
As far as sales go , they are tiny compared to their peak in the 80's. Only the Ranger is selling very well for Ford, everything else sells in small numbers, including the Mustang.GM has even more problems relying on the Colorado, that is selling pretty poorly. - ShinerBockExplorer

Vehicle production has shut down, but Ford still has a regional development center there. - LessmoreExplorer III thought Ford Australia had been shut down ?
