Did you have the same symptoms as I do? My front ac is cold but the rear isn't in the summer. This year we had a cold summer so didn't have many opportunities to try it but one day I sat with the truck idling and even the front ac got warm eventually but once I started driving it cooled down but I had it on it's highest setting. The rear heat works in the winter albeit it takes awhile to get warm though. I was wondering if it can also be the orifice tube or the TXV (thermal expansion valve) that I read in forums that also affect the performance of the ac system.

Those are notorious for breaking- the plastic-yes plastic gears will break teeth occasionally. I've replaced 2 so far on my 03 Expy. Junkyards are a source also.
