Ford Superduty Recall 6.7's

I received an urgent/recall notice today, and my truck is a gas 6.2 model. The notice came from my dealer, not Ford. Recall is is "13 B 16". When I looked it up inputting my VIN, it says "REPROGRAM PCM TO CORRECT ABS/OBS FAULTS THAT DISABLE OBD MONITORS WITHOUT ILLUMINATING THE MIL"

It goes on to explain that is is an emissions related concern. Sounds like the same thing?

A recall to extend a warranty? I don't think so..... There has to be more to that?

I actually have two pending recalls. One is for the recall you mention here, and the other is to extend the warranty on the APIM module in the Sync system to five years with unlimited mileage.

Thanks for the heads up. Just called and made an appointment to get mine fixed. I love this forum.

Must be not all 2014 6.7's are being recalled just yet. I checked on my 2014 F350 (Ford recall site ) bought in April of 14 and it states ...No Recall or Service alert. 15,000 miles and no problems to date. Think I will call them.

Yep 2011's included. The F350 I drive for work shut down on me at a stop light at a busy intersection. No warning either. Not fun.

I do not know the details. But the complaints were due to quick shutdowns before you had time to pull safely off the highway. So I would guess the reprogram will provide more time to find a suitable place to stop before the engine shuts down.

BB_TX - Do you know if the recall will allow more time for you to get to a safe place before engine shut down? I'd hate to be pulling my FW and all of a sudden the thing shuts down.
